Master Plan
Yee Hong, a non-profit organization, espouses a doctrine of 'age in place' and has set as its goal to provide culturally appropriate programming for seniors. The campus at Finch Avenue and Middlefield Road will be among the most comprehensive evocations of Yee Hong's vision.
A land use study and master plan were developed by CXT to incorporate various types of residential buildings, commercial retail office buildings and senior long-term healthcare facilities. Building types with varying heights and orientation were strategically located to acoustically buffer the recreational landscape areas from the adjacent railway marshalling yard.
Senior Residential Yee Hong Garden Terrace is composed of two buildings containing 308 seniors' residential apartments in which Yee Hong, as a developer, maintains an interest in the project in perpetuity because the units are held on the life lease model. Careful planning has resulted in a thriving and vibrant community within the Garden Terrace that has begun to flourish in its engagement with the neighbourhood.
